About Me
About Dr. Catherine Terrell
For the past 22 years as a practicing psychologist, my professional focus has been directed toward Clinical Anxiety, including conditions such as PTSD, OCD, and Generalized Anxiety Disorders. I've found a profound connection with these individuals, particularly combat veterans and abuse victims. These anxious souls revealed to me a captivating paradox—a fearsome exterior concealing a gentle, inner soft side.
Unraveling the art of anxiety treatment became a mission to carve paths to freedom—finding escape routes, widening the spaces between rocks and hard places. Witnessing the liberation of individuals from their anxiety-laden constraints brought so much joy, sparking within me a strong desire to extend this freedom to others.
In the pivotal year of 2011, I underwent a transformative experience—a relocation across my state, laden with stress and challenges. Navigating this difficult period, my then-husband's unemployment and the demands of establishing a new business tested my strength. Loneliness, frequent travel, sleep deprivation, and the responsibilities of motherhood heightened the stress. As anxiety symptoms manifested, from insomnia to nightmares, personal problems compounded the strain. In the midst of adversity, a profound panic attack etched itself into my memory, offering a firsthand lesson on the efficacy of coping mechanisms.
Armed with a Master’s Degree in General Psychology from Boston University and a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi, I've dedicated over two decades to the practice of therapy. Alongside professional growth, my personal life expanded, welcoming two children, seven step-children, and a remarkable husband of five years. Life's tapestry, woven with both challenges and triumphs, has equipped me with the wisdom to guide others towards the wonders life can offer.
As I reflect on my journey, I am eager to share the invaluable insights gained from both professional expertise and personal trials. Life's beauty, even in its most challenging moments, is a testament to resilience and the potential for transformation. I stand ready to guide others toward the profound joy of discovering their own freedom, as I have done for myself and countless others before.
